A trick-taking game for 3 to 6 players, at its best with 4. You want to take as few points as you can.
Setup
- Deal the whole deck out evenly. With 3, 5 or 6 players, remove low clubs and diamonds until it divides evenly.
- Before each hand, everyone passes three cards: left, then right, then across, then a hand with no pass. Repeat.
Play
- Whoever holds the 2 of clubs leads it to start the hand.
- Follow the suit that was led if you can. If you can't, play any card.
- The highest card of the led suit takes the trick, and that player leads next.
- You can't lead a heart until hearts are broken (a heart has been played on another suit), unless hearts are all you have.
- Most tables don't allow points on the very first trick.
Scoring
| Each heart | 1 |
| Queen of spades | 13 |
| Total per hand | 26 |
| Jack of diamonds (optional rule) | −10 |
Shooting the moon: take all 13 hearts and the queen and you score 0 while everyone else takes 26. Some groups let the shooter subtract 26 instead; pick your version in the game settings.
Winning
When someone reaches 100 at the end of a hand, the game ends and the lowest score wins.
Entering scores
Type the points each player took. Deal & Tally checks that the hand adds up to 26 and handles a shot moon for you.
